The invasion that changed the war
Bloodily successful
Pure natured corrupted
With man’s ill gains
D-Day
A beautiful beach of white sand
Covered with body parts
Intestines and brains no longer working
Did they work right in the first place?
D-Day
Some brilliant tactician’s plans
To destroy countless people
And successfully take over Normandy
So the beaches ran black with blood
The survivors know nothing of D-Day

Let's get this straight. I'm a pacifist.
I really don't mean to offend any WWII junkies out there. Really. I wrote this for a WWII poetry project and a lot of people told me it was good. My teacher even kept the project. So I thought to get some peer's imput on it.
